Federal Reserve officials see need to start tapering from mid-Nov. or mid-Dec.: FOMC minutes Updated: 2021-10-14 08:51:39 KST

It has emerged that policymakers at the Federal Reserve broadly agreed last month that the Fed should begin reducing its enormous bond-buying program and start tapering from as soon as mid-November.
The minutes of the Federal Open Market Committee's September meeting were released Wednesday, showing they agreed a gradual tapering process that concludes around the middle of 2022 would be appropriate.
They also noted the process could commence in either mid-November or mid-December.
Fed officials signaled in September that they were close to scaling down their monthly asset purchases of 120 billion U.S. dollars.
