Pfizer has requested emergency use authorization for its COVID-19 vaccines for children aged 5 to 11.
Pfizer on Thursday said it has seen a spike in new cases among children in the U.S.
The company revealed last month that its vaccine induced a strong immune response among 5 to 11 year olds in their clinical trials.
The FDA has said its will discuss Pfizer's application on October 26th.
Pfizer has already won emergency use authorization to inoculate teens aged 12 to 15.
