S. Korea records 2,087 new COVID-19 infections as of Saturday Updated: 2021-09-18 12:13:23 KST

As of Saturday, South Korea recorded over two thousand new Covid infections, as the resurgence of the virus shows little sign of abating.
All but 40 were locally transmitted.
Most cases were reported from the capital areas, with Seoul adding 700 new infections, and Gyeonggi-do Province well over 600.
Health authorities are on alert during the Chuseok holidays as mass travel is expected.
In the meantime, to further raise the vaccination rate, there will be another chance to make a vaccine reservation for those aged 18 to 49 who haven't gotten their shots yet.
The bookings will be available for them online from 8PM, Saturday until the end of the month.
