Good morning. Typhoon Chanthu is over waters 70 kilometers of south Jeju's Seogwipo City and is forecast to pass through the Strait of Korea. Jeju will have the roughest time for the next couple of hours. Busan will see the strongest impact from around 4 pm.
A typhoon warning has been expanded to all of Jeju and waters off the island. A typhoon advisory in Jeollanam-do and Gyeongsangnam-do Province is also in place this morning. Typhoon alerts will be expanded to the East Sea and Gyeongsangbuk-do Province as well.
Jeju is getting hit the hardest, right now, rain is pouring down at a rate of 70 millimeters an hour and the rain will continue to lash down on Jeju and Gyeongsangnam-do through Saturday morning,
They could receive up to 100 millimeters in a single day. The further south you are, the more severe conditions you will be dealing with violent winds. Stay safe.
Typhoon affected regions will notice much lower highs, including Daegu and Busan, but upper regions will have a calm and sunny day.
