If you’re currently in the Seoul metropolitan area, it might be difficult to believe that a powerful typhoon is about to sweep across the country. Conditions will stay clear and sunny for the Seoul metropolitan area tomorrow. But the south of the country will start to see downpours after midnight. Mountainous regions of Jeju Island will see up to 400 millimeters of rainfall. Inland regions of the South, Chungcheong-do and Gangwon-do provinces will see 10 to 60 millimeters.
Typhoon Chanthu has been lingering in the same area for the past 24 hours, due to a high pressure system blocking its movement. The pressure will gradually weaken overnight and Chanthu will start to move northeast, heading to Jeju Island. The typhoon is forecast to reach the city of Seogwipo on Jeju Island at around 9 AM on Friday.
Morning tomorrow in Seoul and Daegu will begin at 18 degrees Celsius.
Aside from Seoul and Chuncheon, the entire nation will see rain for the daytime. Seoul will get up to 29 degrees. Busan 26. Daejeon and Gwangju 27 degrees.
