Good morning. The Chuseok holiday begins next week, but unfortunately there's stormy weather on the way. Typhoon Chanthu that's heading towards Shanghai for now is forecast to approach waters off Jeju by Friday.
It will bring heavy rain and strong winds to Jeju and southern parts of the country. It already started to drop showers on Jeju, and people there could see 50 to 70 millimeters of heavy showers an hour through Wednesday. Rain clouds will gradually move further north.
Jeju will receive up to 500 millimeters of torrential rainfall into Wednesday and 120 millimeters for Jeollanam-do Province. Also, a typhoon related watch will be issued today.
Highs in Seoul will hit 30 degrees Celsius, the south slightly cooler than Sunday.
Conditions will get rougher as the week goes on, then by Friday the typhoon will make its presence felt across the entire country.
