South Korean pianists have won the first and second prizes at a globally renowned piano competition in Italy.
Park Jae-hong came first and Kim Do-hyun second at the 63rd Ferruccio Busoni International Piano Competition on Friday local time.
The competition was founded in 1949 to honor the composer Ferruccio Busoni, and it is known for rarely giving out the first prize, with only six top winners since 2001.
22-year-old first prize winner Park became the first Korean winner since 2015, when Mun Ji-yeong won the competition.
Park will now get the chance to perform with the Haydn Orchestra.
