Good morning. The typhoon has been downgraded to an extratropical storm and now a broad area of low pressure has formed in the west and is dropping torrential rain on the nation. Jeollabuk-do Province seems to be getting the worst of it.

Heavy rain alerts are in place in the southwest and a rain advisory could be expanded to more regions today as rain pick ups. Meanwhile a wind wave advisory is in place for seas around the peninsula.

Downpours will drench the Jeolla-do and Gyeongsang-do Provinces. They could see 200 more millimeters of rain. The capital and Gangwon-do Province forecast to get 30 to 80 millimeters.

Afternoon readings will be similar to a few notches higher this afternoon, Seoul and Daejeon at 28 degrees, Daegu to 30.

We'll wrap up the month on a rainy note, as nation will continue to get soaked by the autumn monsoon, causing problems in southern areas which have already been heavily impacted by showers.
