Typhoon Omais to hit south coast tonight Updated: 2021-08-23 06:09:54 KST

Good morning. Omais, the 12th Typhoon of the season, that's nearing the west of Japan's Okinawa Prefecture is forecast to come close to Jeju around 9 PM, and make a landfall on South Korea's south coast by midnight.

Right now, rain is pouring in parts of the south, but as the day goes on rain will pick up in most areas, dropping torrential showers to southern parts of country along with strong gusts.

400 millimeters for south coast and mountainous regions on Jeju. Mainland southern regions will be seeing 100 to 300 millimeters, Busan and Ulsan where heavy rain soaked over the weekend will be dealing with rough conditions again.

It's a breezy start to the day in most parts, will be similar to yesterday, 23 degrees in Seoul and Daejeon so don't forget your rain gear a rain coat should be the best option.
