On-and-off showers tonight for most regions... nationwide rain this weekend Updated: 2021-08-20 17:04:09 KST

We’ll be seeing frequent rainfall until next week, enough to call it a ‘second monsoon season’. On-and-off showers are forecast for the remainder of this Friday evening. From late tonight, rain will start from Jeju Island. The stationary rain front will act as a conveyor belt for the rain clouds, which means we'll see storms building over the south, bringing pockets of excessive rain.

Therefore, the further south you go, the more rain you'll be receiving. The south coast and Jeju Island will see up to 120 millimeters. Inland regions can expect 30 to 80 millimeters. Thunder and lightning may also follow at times, so please be careful on the roads.

A wet morning is ahead of us tomorrow. Morning lows will range from 22 to 24 degrees Celsius.

Daytime highs won't be rising so much, and readings will be about 4 to 5 degrees lower than today. Seoul and Gwangju will get up to 27 degrees. Daejeon and Busan 26 degrees.

Most of the rain will taper off by Sunday, but another round of showers will start again from the south of the country, next Monday.

That's all for now, and here are the weather conditions around the world.
