Sudden showers nationwide...local downpours for East Coast Updated: 2021-08-18 17:07:23 KST

We've been seeing frequent showers lately, especially those which began without any notice. The reason behind the sudden showers is the instability in the air. When cold air in the atmosphere, which is about minus-10 degrees, clashes with warm air on the ground, rain clouds are instantly created. This instability will continue for the next few days, which means frequent showers until the daytime heat eases off.

Both rain and showers will pass by across the entire nation tomorrow. In fact, locally heavy downpours are expected for the East Coast. Parts of the South, including Jeolla-do Province, will see 20 to 80 millimeters of on-and-off showers. The rest of inland regions, including the Seoul metropolitan area, will see 10 to 60 millimeters.

The weather has gotten much cooler and all of heatwave alerts are now completely lifted. Morning lows tomorrow will range from 19 to 23 degrees Celsius.

We'll be seeing a mix of clouds and rain for the daytime. Seoul will get up to 31 degrees. Busan 28 degrees. Gwangju 29 degrees.

This weekend, rain is in the forecast nationwide. Expect showers to continue until early next week.

That's all for now, and here are the weather conditions around the world.
