Good morning. Today is Malbok marking the final day of the hottest period of the summer season. Usually until Malbok, the heat is quite strong but this year we can expect much relief from the heat. Highs in most parts of Korea will hover around 30 degrees Celsius but you'll need an umbrella on your way out.
Sudden widespread rain is in store nationwide, although the amount will vary, rain will begin in the south in the morning before spreading to rest of country. It could pour down up to 50 millimeters an hour.
Heat eased in some of southern regions overnight, Gyeongju and Chuncheon have a low of 21 degrees Celsius.
Highs in most parts will be 2 to 3 degrees lower than yesterday ranging from 30 to 31 degrees Celsius this afternoon.
Korea's Jeju island will be affected by a stationary front from tomorrow dropping rain on Jeju through the rest of the week.
