S. Korea adds substitute holidays this year on Aug. 16, Oct. 4, Oct. 11 Updated: 2021-08-03 17:01:27 KST

The Cabinet today approved a decree that'll give people in South Korea an extra weekday off for a few more public holidays in case those holidays fall on weekends.
That'll mean three more days off this year on August 16th, October 4th and October 11th.
Substitute holidays will now apply, if needed, to March 1st Independence Movement Day, National Liberation Day, National Foundation Day and Hangul Day.
Before, this system was only for New Year's Day, the Korean thanksgiving holiday Chuseok and Children's Day.
