Good afternoon. There won't be stifling heat for this first week of August but we'll see frequent rain. It's been raining in parts of the west, including Seoul, and it will rain throughout the day so keep an umbrella handy with 5 to 60 millimeters in store nationwide.
Heat warnings have been downgraded to advisories for many central regions, including Seoul with an expected high of 30 degrees Celsius in the capital.
Rain will pick up after lunch in the capital region, while Daegu will be blistering hot at 33 degrees.
This week, we are looking at more wet weather with highs in the low thirties along with continuous tropical nights.
Along with the rain, humidity will rise to 70 to 100 percent on top of the heat, forming ideal conditions for bacterial growth. The crisis alert for food poisoning is the highest across Korea. Be mindful of food safety and stay sharp before, during, and after cooking.
That's Korea for you and here's a look at weather conditions around the world.
