Good morning. Some welcome rain over the weekend helped lessen the stifling heat we've been enduring recently. Rain last night was so heavy that even heavy rain advisories were issued in parts of the central and Gyeongsangbuk-do regions. Rain will resume after lunch so be sure to have an umbrella handy on your way out.
Heat warnings have been downgraded to advisories in many central regions, including Seoul, and the high will only go up to about 30 degrees Celsius in Seoul but high humidity will still make it feel quite uncomfortable.
Morning temperatures are slightly lower than the same time yesterday, it felt refreshing in Seoul when I stepped outside this morning.
Daegu will be blistering hot at 35 degrees, Gwangju and Jeju hitting 32 degrees this afternoon. Remember, when it starts to rain it could pour down.
This week, we are looking at frequent rain and sudden showers but the highs will remain in the low thirties with continuous tropical nights.
