S. Korea to expand medical insurance support for pregnancy and childbirth Updated: 2021-06-23 09:07:46 KST

Starting in January, the government will provide more money to households with new babies.
The Health Ministry announced they'll be getting an extra 400-thousand won, or about 350 U.S. dollars.
That'll bring the total benefit for a single child to about 850 dollars and for twins to 12-hundred dollars.
This will be for people who apply from January first.
The money is for any kind of medical expense, and must be spent within two years, which is double the current limit of one year.
