"Gun violence in this country is an epidemic, -- let me say it again. Gun violence in this country is an epidemic, and it's an international embarrassment."

The initial actions include tightened restrictions on so-called "ghost guns",… which can be self-assembled after purchasing components online.
These guns are also often difficult to trace, as many do not have serial numbers.
Biden also announced that stabilizing braces for pistols would require registration under the National Firearms Act.
Pistol stabilizing braces are often used to increase a weapon's accuracy,… making them function almost like mini rifles.
The president is also aiming to pass the red-flag legislation in states,… which will allow police officers and family members to temporarily bar dangerous people from possessing firearms.
The Department of Justice will also release annual reports on gun trafficking.

Biden unveiled the gun control measures following recent mass shootings across the country,… including Wednesday's shooting in South Carolina.
According to AP, former NFL player, Phillip Adams, shot five people before taking his own life.
Adams shot and killed a doctor, his wife, and two grandchildren at their home, as well as an air-conditioning technician working outside.
More deadly mass shootings took place in the U.S. in less than a month,… killing eight in Georgia and 10 in Colorado.
