To mark International Women's Day, President Moon Jae-in said South Korea will achieve an inclusive recovery and make a leap forward when more women are able to work in more places and not have to interrupt their careers to take care of their families.
Via social media he expressed respect for all women in modern history who've worked hard and raised their status, including the survivors of Japan's wartime sex slavery, who fought for justice.
The President vowed to work towards building a world where women can exercise equal authority and serve as leaders.
He noted that people have learned how to respect others' lives and feelings by looking to women who endured and overcome prejudice and discrimination.
