U.S. President Joe Biden has called on all Americans to fight against COVID-19 together and to remember those who have been lost to the pandemic.
With the U.S. having recorded the most coronavirus-related deaths in the world at over 500-thousand President Biden, together with Vice-President Kamala Harris on Monday local time addressed the American public and observed a moment of silence and a candlelit memorial.
President Biden also ordered for all flags on federal grounds to be lowered to half-mast for the next five days as a mark of respect.
The U.S. has reported 28.8 million cases of COVID-19, the most in the world.
