S. Korea's consumer sentiment index up 2.0 points m/m in February Updated: 2021-02-23 07:04:27 KST

South Korea's consumer sentiment has improved in February, largely due to the slowing spread of COVID-19 and the hope for inoculations in the near future.
According to the Bank of Korea on Tuesday, the composite consumer sentiment index stood at 97.4, up two points from January.
But a reading below the 100 threshold indicates more people are pessimistic than optimistic about the economy.
However, the central bank stated that uncertainty over COVID-19 is reflected in the figures as the increase is smaller than that of previous months.
