Good morning. It looks to be a rough winter day with snow and strong winds. Snow clouds moving in from the west will drop a moderate amount of snow on the entire country and it could hit heavily over a short period.
The capital region is under a heavy snow advisory, while the west coast is under strong wind alerts. In fact, we are talking about storm force winds reaching 20 meters per second and weather alerts will be expanded to more regions as the morning goes on.
East of Jeolla-do and the mountainous region in Jeju will see up to 15 centimeters. Seoul and inland regions will see 1 to 7 centimeters of snow, which could let up by evening in most parts.
But by the evening commute, thermometers will be pointing at about minus 7 degrees so snow could cause icy roads then tomorrow morning, we are beginning the day at minus 12 degrees, but it could feel like minus 22 with the wind chill.
Highs in most parts will be a few notches lower but be prepared for a return to harsh winter weather.
