President-elect Joe Biden's nominee for Secretary of State says the U.S. plans a full review of the country's approach to North Korea.
During his Senate confirmation hearing on Tuesday, Antony Blinken said that the incoming administration will look into ways to bring Pyeongyang back to the negotiating table.
On the North's denuclearization, Blinken added that Washington will keep a close eye, not only on the security, but also humanitarian issues to avoid unnecessary suffering.
Meanwhile, on the same day, Defense Secretary nominee Lloyd Austin also said that, if he heads the department, he will seek the early conclusion of cost sharing negotiations with South Korea..
Defense cost-sharing talks between Seoul and Washington have been held since late 2019, but significant progress has not been made.
