U.S. stocks rose Tuesday as traders returned from a long holiday weekend, and eyed signs of mounting support for significant fiscal stimulus out of Washington.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed point-4 percent and the S&P point-8 percent.
The tech-heavy NASDAQ added 1.5 percent to finish at 13-thousand 197 point-18.
Oil prices also rose, with Brent Crude up nearly 2 percent.
WTI also climbed 1.2 percent to around 53 dollars a barrel.
