A powerful earthquake has struck Turkey's Aegean coast and the Greek island of Samos on Friday afternoon, killing at least 26 people and injuring almost 800 others.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the seven.oh magnitude tremor felt as far away as Istanbul and Athens was centered off Turkey's Izmir province.
Authorities set up tents to house about two-thousand people amid fears of collapsing buildings and additional flooding as mini-tsunamis were triggered from aftershocks.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan tweeted the government would help those affected with all means available.
