The United States and China have agreed to hold high-level talks next week as their ties deteriorate over a range of issues.
The Wall Street Journal reports that U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer is expected to meet virtually with his Chinese counterpart Liu He on August 15th, to assess Beijing's compliance with their Phase One trade deal signed in January.
Beijing made a commitment to buy around 200 billion U.S. dollars worth of American goods over two years.
