Life expectancy gap between Koreas is 11 years: UN report Updated: 2020-07-01 10:00:06 KST

The life expectancy of North Koreans is just 72 years, eleven years shorter than it is in South Korea.
According to the State of World Population Report 2020 released by the United Nations Population Fund on Wednesday, North Korea’s life expectancy is below the world average of 73 years and is ranked 118th out of 198 countries.
North Korea also showed signs of a slowing fertility rate, with each woman having an estimated one.nine children on average.
South Korea has the world's lowest birth rate at one.one.
North Korea’s annual population growth rate between 2015 and 2020 was point-five percent, below the global average of one.one percent.
The country's total population stands at 25.eight million.
