"Uranium plant in N. Korea remains operational, continues to be updated": CSIS Updated: 2020-05-30 12:12:19 KST

A major uranium plant in North Korea remains operational, and continues to be updated.
Citing recent satellite imagery on Friday, the Center for Strategic and International Studies said the Pyongsan uranium plant continues to be developed and expanded.
The plant --located just 45 kilometers away from the Demilitarized zone-- is the only known source in North Korea of the material used to produce highly enriched uranium, which is needed for the regime's advanced nuclear weapons program.
The think tank said the plant is highly likely to remain active for the near future as well, and stressed that the plant should be dismantled to achieve complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization in North Korea.
