The coronavirus has now reached all continents except for Antarctica.
New Zealand has reported its first infection - a person in their 60s who came back to the country on February 26th after a trip to Iran.
"I do want to inform you that I've just received confirmation that the suspected case of coronavirus that we reported earlier today has been confirmed as a case of coronavirus."
Belarus has also confirmed its first coronavirus infection a student from Iran.
Iran has seen over 25 deaths along with at least 250 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
Lithuania and Nigeria reported their first cases on Friday too.
Both of them were related to Italy where there have been several hundred confirmed cases and more than a dozen deaths.
The Lithuanian government said the country's first COVID-19 patient is a 39-year old woman.
She returned to Lithuania this week from Italy's northern city of Verona.
Nigeria's first patient is an Italian man who works in Nigeria.
He arrived in Lagos the country's biggest city with a population of over 20 million from Milan on February 25th.
This is the first COVID-19 case in the sub Saharan region after cases were reported in Egypt and Algeria.
"I am very scared about Nigeria, I am very scared and I just hope that the government will act very very fast and prompt about it and make sure that the citizens are safe.''
Meanwhile, international film festivals across the globe have been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Italy has decided to push back the 22nd Far East Film Festival to the end of June.
One of the biggest film festivals in Europe, the Far East Film Festival was scheduled to run from April 24th to May 2nd.
Hong Kong has also decided to postpone the 44th Hong Kong International Film Festival until August.
It was originally set to start in late March.
