South Korean stocks plummeted on Monday as fears of COVID-19 gripped the nation.
South Korea's benchmark KOSPI plunged below the 2,080 mark.
It closed just over 2,079, down almost four percent from the previous close.
The tech-heavy KOSDAQ fell 4.three percent, closing at 639.
With the virus spreading globally, other stock markets across the world also saw a decline.
Hong Kong’s Hang Seng was down 1.8 percent and Australia's benchmark index dropped 2.three percent on Monday.
