Defense cost-sharing will be discussed at Seoul-Washington Defense Ministers' Meeting: Pentagon Updated: 2020-02-20 13:29:30 KST

The Pentagon says when the defense chiefs of South Korea and the U.S. meet next Monday in Washington the two sides will discuss defense cost-sharing.
The Pentagon's chief spokesperson, Jonathan Hoffman, explained on Wednesday that sustaining South Korea-U.S. relations is crucial to boosting the allies' capacity to defend the Korean Peninsula.
He added that South Korea is one of Washington's oldest allies and that American forces, first deployed to the country in the 1950s, will stay.
