Seoul court rules that ride-hailing service Tada is legal, contractual service Updated: 2020-02-19 13:33:25 KST

A South Korean court has ruled that the ride-hailing service Tada is legitimate and legal.
It's a decision that'll likely outrage taxi drivers, who say Tada breaks the law by taking money for rides in a van that's rented.
The Seoul Central District Court said in the first hearing Wednesday that Tada is a legal, contractual service through which people can rent a car at a preferred time with a driver.
Prosecutors had sought jail terms of one year for the executives of Tada and its parent company for allegedly operating a transportation business without a license.
