59% of voters in Japan against releasing Fukushima's radioactive waste water into ocean: Yomiuri Shimbun Updated: 2020-02-18 09:58:08 KST

Well over half of voters in Japan are against the idea of dumping radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear plant into the ocean.
In a survey conducted by the Japanese daily Yomiuri Shimbun last weekend, 59 percent of 1,073 respondents opposed the idea.
Only 27 percent were in favor.
The nuclear plant operator TEPCO has been storing contaminated water in tanks on-site, but it predicts storage space will run out by 2022.
