The PyeongChang Peace Forum 2020 has kicked off in Pyeongchang, Gangwon-do Province.
Celebrating the two-year anniversary of the 2018 Winter Olympics, people who have contributed to maintaining peace around the world gathered on Sunday to discuss how to continue the peace momentum on the Korean peninsula.
Former UN chief Ban Ki-moon emphasized the importance of establishing a so-called "glo-cal" network.
"Some conflicts may seem like local.
But there is no difference between local and global.
To solve these matters, all these challenges must be addressed with global solutions.
For this I believe that cooperative international action must be the glue that binds us together and that binds the issues together so that we can address all interconnected areas."
The forum runs until Tuesday, with more sessions under the slogan "Peace Here and Now".
