S. Korean soldiers dispatched overseas send Seol holiday greetings Updated: 2020-01-25 12:17:36 KST

The Ark Unit, dispatched to the United Arab Emirates, perform ancestral rites to celebrate Korea's traditional holiday, Seol.

"Soldiers of the Ark Unit all feel strong pride and responsibility as military ambassadors representing the Republic of Korea. We will thoroughly carry out the tasks the country has commissioned. We hope the South Korean people celebrate a happy Lunar New Year holiday."

The Cheonghae Unit, deployed to the Gulf of Aden for anti-piracy missions as well as the Army's Hanbit Unit, taking part in the United Nations' peacekeeping missions in South Sudan also sent their greetings.

"My dear parents in my home country and my girlfriend Ju-hae, I really miss you and love you so much.

"Mom, Dad, please stay healthy and well until I return home. I love you lots."

"Along with my fellow comrades I will help South Sudan shine even in the New Year.

Messages also come from Dongmyung Unit, taking part in UN peacekeeping missions in Lebanon aimed at confirming Israel's withdrawal from the country, and restoring international peace and security.

"Just now we've completed the 19,400th surveillance mission. As we have for the past 13 years since 2007, we'll continue our spotless operations. We send the spirit of the 23rd rotation of Dongmyung Unit. Have a happy Lunar New Year."
