Out of all of South Korea's conglomerates in the past two decades, the only ones that have managed to make over a trillion won in operating profits every year are Samsung Electronics and POSCO.
This is according to the Sustainable Growth Institute.
A trillion won is about 860 million U.S. dollars.
Back in 2010, the number of companies making one trillion won a year was 22, but that number has since fallen.
It was just 13 in 2013, and 18 in 2017 and 2018.
The institute said big businesses need to take a fresh approach and look for new opportunities.
