South Korea's unemployment rate remained steady at 3.4 percent last month, with over 5-hundred thousand new jobs added.
According to Statistics Korea on Wednesday, the number of employed people reached around 27 million in December.
The overall employment rate last year reached almost 61 percent, a 22-year-high.
Statistics Korea attributed the rise to the government's job creation policies.
By sector, jobs increased in social and health services and the accommodation industry, but fell in finance and construction, and in the wholesale and retail sectors.
