18-hundred young athletes from all over the world have gathered in Lausanne, Switzerland for the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games.
Aged between 15 and 18, the young athletes are participating in eight winter disciplines including ice hockey, skating and ski through January 22nd.

After Thursday’s opening ceremony at the Vaudoise Arena,the young athletes will not only compete for a medal, but also learn about anti-doping and fair spirit through various programs.
The Youth Winter Games was started in 2012 by the International Olympic Committee to promote the spirit of challenge and teach the importance of a healthy body.
Meanwhile, a South Korean delegation including Culture Minister Park Yang-woo and Governor of Gangwon-do Province Choi Moon-soon, have come to Lausanne to make a final presentation that could help the province win the bid to host the games in 2024.
The proposal is scheduled to take place during Friday’s IOC executive board meeting at the SwissTech Convention Center, and it will be followed by a voting among the members.
