South Korea's Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha went to Osan Air Base, south of Seoul, on Saturday to encourage South Korean and U.S. troops.
Kang had lunch with the troops, and sat down for talks with Commander Hwang Seok-jin of South Korea’s Air Force Operational Command and the commander of the U.S. Seventh Air Force, Kenneth Wilsbach.
The minister called the Seoul-Washington alliance "all-weather and all-purpose" and said that it's based on shared values, such as freedom, democracy and a market economy.
Kang also said the secret to the alliance's strength is South Korean and U.S. troops working together.
She also delivered donations raised by foreign ministry staff to express their appreciation for the troops' efforts.
