S. Korea, U.S. postpone wintertime combined air drill to support N. Korea denuclearization Updated: 2019-11-17 14:26:16 KST

The top defense officials from South Korea and the U.S. have agreed to postpone their joint wintertime air drill, to support diplomacy with North Korea.
The announcement came after a meeting between Seoul's defense minister Jeong Kyeong-doo and U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper.
This was on the sidelines of the ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting-Plus, being held in Bangkok, Thailand.
No specific timeline was given regarding the postponement, but Mark Esper said it could be adjusted "depending on what diplomacy may require."
The allies had initially planned to conduct the exercise in mid-November, a scaled-back version of the Vigilant Ace air exercise, which was condemned by the North as a rehearsal for invasion.
