Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is reportedly planning on a summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping next month.
The Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun reported on Saturday that Prime Minister Abe is looking to meet with his Chinese counterpart a day before the Seoul-Beijing-Tokyo summit set for December 24th.
The newspaper says the two sides are also preparing for Xi Jinping's state visit to Japan next spring.
As well as discussing their bilateral ties, the top items on the agenda will likely be issues surrounding North Korea, and the relations between Washington and Beijing.
