At least 15 people have died and 5 others are missing after a dam collapsed at a gold mine in Siberia.
The dam, built on the Seiba river in Krasnoyarsk, burst after heavy rain on Saturday, sweeping away small cabins where workers lived.
While the bitterly cold weather is making the search operation even more challenging,Russia has launched a criminal investigation into the possible violation of safety rules.
Local authorities say the dam was not registered by official bodies.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has also ordered officials to provide assistance and investigate the reasons behind the dam collapse.
