S. Korea's top nuke envoy in U.S. to discuss ways to continue momentum for nuclear talks Updated: 2019-10-08 13:23:48 KST

South Korea's top nuclear envoy Lee Do-hoon says he will meet his American counterpart, Stephen Biegun, this week to discuss ways to keep up the momentum for talks between North Korea and the United States.
Speaking to reporters Monday upon his arrival in Washington,Lee said it's crucial for Seoul and Washington to coordinate if they're going to find a solution to the nuclear impasse.
Although last weekend's working-level denuclearization talks in Stockholm broke down, the South Korean envoy insisted North Korea and the U.S. left room for future dialogue.
While in Washington, he will also meet his Japanese counterpart.
