North Korea reacted to President Trump's recent comments on finding a 'new method' in nuclear talks with the North and confirmed its new counterpart to U.S. nuclear envoy Stephen Biegun.
Kim Myong-gil, the North's former ambassador to Vietnam, released a statement Friday morning announcing himself as the North's new point man in working-level talks with the U.S.
Kim praised President Trump's remarks that criticized the Libyan model of denuclearization and suggested a 'new method' to improve relations with the North.
He said he expects the U.S. to make the right calculations and that he wants to be optimistic about the upcoming talks.
