After local police identified the suspect Wednesday in a serial killing spree in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do province from 1986 to 1991, more details are beginning to filter out about the case.
According to police, the suspect was born in Hwaseong and lived there until 1993 when he moved to another city.
Police said DNA samples collected from the underwear of one of the female victims contained the suspect's DNA.
The new information could serve as circumstantial evidence that the suspect raped and murdered at least one of the ten women who were killed in the area some 30 years ago.
The suspect is currently serving prison time for a separate murder.
Police are continuing their investigation in search for the truth, despite the statute of limitations on the cases expiring in April 2006.
