And South Korea's National Security Council will be making preparations to ensure that the summit with President Trump in New York leads to concrete measures to strengthen the alliance.
In a regular meeting today, chaired by National Security Advisor Chung Eui-yong, council members agreed to back President Moon's efforts to garner international support for the Korean Peninsula's complete denuclearization and permanent peace.
They also assessed the political and economic impacts of the attack on Saudi Arabia's oil facilities, and how Korea can respond.
