Eight out of ten Japanese citizens believe Seoul and Tokyo should mend their ties, according to an opinion poll conducted by Japan News Network over the weekend.
According to the survey, 79 percent of some 11-hundred respondents said they want
bilateral ties to improve, amid the ongoing trade and diplomatic spat between the two countries.
Half the respondents said the leaders of both countries must hold an early summit, to settle their differences.
Seoul and Tokyo's ties turned sour, after the Abe administration placed what many see as politically-motivated trade measures on South Korean firms.
Abe's approval rating in this survey dropped three.one percentage points from the month before.
