Leaders of the world's seven most advanced economies have gathered in France for the annual G7 summit which kicked off Saturday.
The three-day meeting takes place amid worries of an impending global recession, along with continuing trade tensions between the United States and China.
The working session on Sunday has begun, with the leaders expected to discuss security and the world economy.
Ahead of the meeting, various leaders including European Council President Donald Tusk called for unity in times of division over issues concerning trade and climate change.
Meanwhile, thousands of protestors opposing the G7 meeting and the globalization agenda, took to the streets of Biarritz.
Police reportedly used water cannons and tear gas to break up the crowd on Saturday, and made 17 arrests.
