The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says ten people died from this year's heatwaves.
The agency said from late May to mid-August, almost seventeen-hundred people were admitted to hospital with heat-related illnesses such as heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Gyeonggi-do Province topped the number of patients at around three-hundred, followed by Gyeongsang-do provinces and Jeollanam-do Province.
Around eighty-percent of those illnesses occurred at outdoor workplaces or farms.
The health authorities recommend that people stay indoors and drink plenty of water during periods of hot weather.
