On Facebook and Twitter, the president sent out a message of appreciation to the victims and promised that his administration will do its best to restore the dignity and honor of those who lived through that tragic time in history.
His government, he said, will do more to raise international awareness of the Korean women who were forced to serve as sex slaves by sharing the issue as a message about peace and women's human rights.
The president thanked the victims for the efforts they've made, and said that, through them, the country was able to learn the truth, and that he hopes that their sorrow will be turned into hope.
