Good morning. It's shaping up to be a sizzling Friday with heat wave alerts in place across much of the country, drink plenty of water and avoid outdoor activities especially in regions under heat wave warnings.
Daily highs will be 33 to 36 degrees Celsius this afternoon. Seoul, Daegu and Daejeon at 35 degrees, Gyeongju reaching 36 degrees.
You may want to keep an umbrella nearby again. Central regions and southern inland regions could see passing showers with scattered thunderstorms.
Steamy heat will dominate the forecast this weekend. Tomorrow is forecast to be the hottest day of the season with an expected high of 37 degrees in Seoul. Drink plenty of water and take care of your health.
A quick update on typhoon Lekima, it's very unlikely to impact Korea but areas from northern Taiwan to eastern China look to bear the brunt of Lekima through early next week.
